Food court meals usually conjure up images of bland, regular fast food but Dubai like with everything else shatters those images with the “Go Big or Go Home ” food court.
Masala dosas, imli fries , nitro ice cream or a fresh sugar cane juice – you can find them all and so much more at a Dubai food court. And if you are like my kids and need a good old favourite , the regulars are also all there.
So I find the best way to “attack” a food court is to do the one full circle to see what the options are. I hate when i don’t do that and after I place my order i find something that i would have preferred to have .
So some food court favourites are
New York Fries – I know fries seem so boring but these really aren’t. Imli fries with no tomato is my recommendation. Get a small because then you keep space for something more.
Bombay Chowpatty – An Indian street food concept store with favourites like Aloo paratha ,Dhai patata puri , Pani puri ,Pav bhaji , salt lassi and rabri .
Panda Express – The mixed plate with 2 main courses and a choice of either rice or noodles( or both) with a spring roll is a standard lunch for me when i need a shopping break. The kung pao chicken with the pieces of red dry chillis scattered through is just the right amount of spicy for me.
London Fish n Chips – Besides the fish n chips which is excellent , the loaded baked potato is another great choice.
Ice cream Lab @ Dubai Mall Ice cream made fresh and yummy while you wait with liquid nitrogen. Choose your favourite flavour and its ready in minutes.
La CreParis – @ Mall of Emirates Upper food court
Tasty fresh crepes with a variety of fillings and toppings.
Charleys Philly Steaks – they always have a sample plate on offer and we generally taste and choose one of those options to have as a main.
Vanellis- Pasta and Pizza – always a good idea. The red and white sauce mixed with penne pasta with extra chilli is everyone’s favourite.
There is a lot more depending on which mall you are at and a few of the malls even have more than one food court. So do your walk around and you wont go hungry.
Undercover Tip– Avoid the food courts smack on meal times or late in the evenings as they tend to get extremely busy and it can be hard to find a table.
